He began his medical journey in 1991 with his Doctor of Pharmacy from Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy. He worked as a relief pharmacist in the Tri-City areas during medical school. In 1995 Dr. Sewell received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from ETSU James H. Quillen College of Medicine. He then began and completed his internship, residency, and fellowship at The University of Tennessee Hospital.

Sewell Family Practice has a sick and well-waiting room for patients. When building the office, Dr. Sewell made the health and safety of his patients his number one priority. Pre-pandemic Sewell Family Practice has always had two waiting rooms for sick and healthy patients; however, this provides another comfort level for patients seeking care during the COVID-19 Pandemic and beyond.
Our facility also features Digital X-ray machines, a fully functioning onsite lab, and annual wellness and quality measures checks.
