Our Story

Our story began in 1999 in Jamestown, TN. Shortly after completing his education and residency, Dr. Sewell returned to his hometown with his wife, Paula, and their four children: Caitlin, Zachary, Emily, and Joshua. He was determined to serve the community and the people he grew up with. Dr. Sewell understood that building a practice would be challenging; however, he never settled for mediocrity and was committed to providing the exceptional care that the people of Fentress County deserved.

Settling into Jamestown was a dream come true for Dr. Sewell and his young family. He started working at the hospital in Jamestown and serving the community from his first small office, alongside many of the same team members who have been with him from the beginning. His vision for a larger office space originated in those early days, as he wanted a place where his patients would feel comfortable and receive the best possible care.

In 2009, Dr. Sewell moved his practice into a new building, realizing his dream and allowing his ideas to flourish. He has three guiding principles in his office: first, “There is no such thing as a silly question.” Second, “If we forget to provide something you need, just ask, and we will take care of it for you.” And third, “If you are sick and our patient, we will see you the same day.”

After over 20 years of serving Jamestown, Dr. Sewell wants to express his gratitude for the community’s ongoing support. He is now slowing down from the brisk pace he set at the beginning of his career and enjoys spending time with his wife, Paula, and their grandchildren: Tylie, River, Baylor, Karsyn, Madelyn, Rhett, and Clayton.
