Our Story

Our story began in 1999 in Jamestown, TN.

Shortly after finishing school and residency, Dr. Sewell moved back to his hometown with his wife Paula Sewell and their four children: Caitlin, Zachary, Emily, and Joshua. Dr. Sewell knew he wanted to return to his hometown and serve his community and the people he grew up with. He knew building a practice would not be easy work; however, he never settled on mediocrity and wanted to give the people of Fentress County the exceptional care they deserved.

Settling into Jamestown was a dream for Dr. Sewell and his young family. He began working at the hospital in Jamestown and serving the community out of his first tiny office space with many of the same team members who have been with him since the beginning. The dream to build an office space stemmed from the early days of his career in a small building. He knew he wanted a place his patients would feel comfortable in and one where they could get the best care possible.

In 2009 Dr. Sewell moved his practice into his new building. This is where his dream came true, and all of his ideas began to flourish. Dr. Sewell states he has three rules in his office. The first is, “There is no such thing as a silly question.” “If we forget to do something you need, ask us, and we will take care of it for you.” “If you are sick and our patient, we will see you the same day.”

In his 20-plus years serving Jamestown, Dr. Sewell wants to thank everyone for their continued support. He is slowing down from the pace he started in his early career and enjoys spending time with his wife Paula and their grandchildren: Tylie, River, Baylor, Karsyn, Madelyn, Rhett, and Clayton.
